Tradition meets contemporary style, by giving life to a project that perfectly blends aesthetic and creativity, like a made-to-measure sartorial jacket. Two historical fashion brands that epitomize Italian flair and excellence come together.
Lubiam, a leading company in high-end menswear established in 1911 and currently run by the fourth generation of the Bianchi family, has designed a capsule collection in collaboration with Efisio Marras, the eclectically talented son of Antonio Marras and creative director of the I’M Isola Marras. This collaborative project has reconnected the two brands after a long time: Efisio's paternal grandfather, after whom he was named, used to sell the Lubiam collections in his clothing shop in the Sardinian town of Alghero.
The result of the project is a capsule collection that renews the partnership between the two brands. Lubiam, with its brands Luigi Bianchi Mantova Sartoria and L.B.M. 1911 is, like Marras, a family-run business. Giovanni Bianchi (Lubiam's Managing Director and Head of Style and Design) and his sister Giulia Bianchi (L.B.M.1911 Product Manager) say: "We are enthusiastic about our collaboration with Efisio, who shares our great passion for tailoring. Right from the first meeting there was good synergy among us. The same chemistry has inspired our exciting capsule collection. Research and innovation have always been the pillars of L.B.M.1911's style. In this case we had the opportunity to venture into new territories and to make the most of our know-how.
The result is a capsule collection that mixes a contemporary twist with a remarkably international flair".
The capsule collection Efisio Marras for L.B.M.1911 has been presented during Milan’s Fashion Week in a dedicated setting but two looks were selected for an exclusive preview to be showcased at Pitti Immagine Uomo 95. The creative project focuses on a number of iconic pieces.
Outerwear attire, Lubiam's expertise and core business especially with L.B.M.1911, will play a key role. Enhanced by Efisio's fresh approach, his 'unconventional' pieces are designed for demanding, trend-sensitive customers who do appreciate beautifully tailored garments. “The looks I co-designed would be typically worn by millennials in their 30s who want to retain their eccentric soul when going to work or attending meetings”. - says Efisio Marras “ The main inspiration for the capsule collection is Sex Pistols' legendary bass player Sid Vicious, that I re-imagined living in today's world. Styles are inspired by leather biker jackets and bomber jackets in super-skinny fits. Fabric combinations range from Scottish tartans to workwear corduroy”.
For L.B.M.1911, the nine looks presented in this collection symbolize a journey from Mantua to Alghero, a route marked by craftsmanship and expertise.
